Inspired by the environment on the door-step of her Hackney studio, Anita Gohil started designing her playful accessories in 2003 under the Bena Clothing Label. Anita’s work artfully brings to life the posing pigeons, elusive foxes and gallivanting cats that live in London streets and alleys. Further inspiration comes from the various historical, biological or chemical artifacts resting in the nooks and crannies of London’s museums, libraries and flea markets.
Anita has a degree in Fine Art, specialising in print based media from The Surrey Institute of Art & Design. The Collection is predominantly screen-printed Perspex and laser-etched inlaid wood, but different mediums creep in from time to time. All of the accessories are made in England and treasured around the world for being delightful, witty and quintessentially British.
All pieces are guaranteed to put a little more air under your feet and a smile to your lips as you step out to work, party or a stroll in the park.
